Description
Many manufacturers are now critically evaluating their processes to determine their effectiveness in bringing maximum value to customers. Customers are shifting more of their cost to the manufacturing chain. The key to gaining the competitive advantage is to re-engineer business processes.

This course will lead the engineers and factories management through the various industrial engineering approach with respect to the activities involved in capacity assessment studies, benchmarking, modelling, unit cost drivers, work methods analysis, internal procedures simplification, time measurements, standard allowed minutes (SAM) establishment, different production set-ups analysis, modular team concepts, etc.

The application of simultaneous engineering approach is much needed to scientifically shorten lead time, reduce costs and establish core values driven by costing formulae and KPIs.

Objectives -
1. Determine the Industrial Engineering structure within garment manufacturing environment
2. Apply line balancing in production line to achieve a continuous flow
3. Identify the different cost drivers and their effects on different cost methods
4. Apply pre-determined time system to work processes
5. Identify the unproductive cost element and its effect on total cycle time
6. Determine the most economical method in setting up operation breakdown according to organisational procedures
7. Analyse and compare various production setups in relation with order categories
8. Write proposals with return on investment for equipment procurement
9. Various production systems-their advantages/disadvantages and how to choose an ideal production system.
10. Bottlenecks-How to identify, eliminate and continuously improve them
11. Theory of Constraint-work shop-Paradise Factory
